Over the past couple of years, Wishing Well Receptions have become quite popular. Some may not think it’s a proper thing to do, but of course it is if you do it tastefully!!!
More couples these days already have the essentials needed to run a household and don't care to have any more pots and pans and most of your guests understand that. Some guests would rather give monetary gifts because they know that money can be way more useful than the traditional gifts. It’s no secret that couples have always wanted to see a stack of envelopes filled with cash and checks as they wind down to open up their wedding gifts and there is a proper way to inform your guests.
Flat out telling people you want cash is tacky and a wedding no-no. Word of mouth is always helpful but that may not guarantee the outcome you would like. When you are picking out your perfect wedding invitations, include a wishing well reception note with the invitation. In order to have a wishing well wedding, you must have a wishing well. You can rent them or DIY and decorate it with your color scheme. Some couples choose to have wishing well envelopes alongside the well for people to use. I say skip the envelopes because most people buy the newlyweds cards anyway and will have your gift already prepared for you when they arrive for the reception.
